Going for Gold: British Curry Award Nominee
Sponsored by a host of hospitality businesses, organisations and household names alike, the British Curry Awards are not called the “Oscars of the Curry Industry” for nothing! This UK -wide, star-studded event is supported by an equally impressive cast of television and radio networks helping to bring together the best that purveyors of Indian food and hospitality have to offer.
As head chef and proprietor of one of Corwen’s favourite restaurants, I am proud to announce that we have been shortlisted in the category for Best Takeaway in the celebrated British Curry Award, 2016. Customers, along with loyal followers and friends, have whole-heartedly recognised the hard work and dedication that goes into creating great tasting curry. For this, I owe a dept of thanks to them for having the conviction to vote for us.
Each year, a myriad of awards are up for grabs in the name of culinary expertise, and the promotion of innovation in food within what is a very progressive industry. Winning the Welsh Curry Award last year was very humbling for us; it showed us that we can deliver what our customers enjoy the most to consistently high standards. We continue to strive for the perfection of not just our signature dishes, but all the dishes on our menu. We want to ensure that our passion for great curry is enjoyed by all our customers, be they dining in or ordering take-out food. Having the opportunity to share this passion with the wider community in the context of being a serious contender for the British Curry Award is exciting. It allow us to showcase our favourite dishes and communicate our interpretation of what is arguably amongst some of the Nation’s favourite food.
Receiving news of the nomination (which arrives in a gold envelope) really has been a great honour; as was reported in the Denbighshire Free Press, who, it seems, are just as excited at our nomination as we are. This will be our fourth year in Corwen and on November 28th, we will be travelling to London for the awards event. In the meantime, we are hoping to bring yet more recognition to Corwen and the art of creating inspired Bangladeshi Indian food.
